Bok Tower

We visited the most peaceful & enriching place in Florida.

Bok Tower sits on the highest point in Florida. We sat & listened to the Carillon bells. Edward W. Bok born in the Netherlands in 1863 created a sanctuary for birds & people in Florida because he was awed by the beauty of Iron Mountain. He acquired a large tract of sandy soil covered with pines & palmettos & asked Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. to transform the area into a sanctuary that would touch the soul with its beauty & quiet.

There were 2 door prizes & the two winners were Nancy & yes...Nancy... Yes thats right 2 Nancy's. The prizes were a redhat scarf, a redhat towel & a redhat photo album.

Isolde won the 50/50 this month.

Purple PJ Party

Another successful event hosted by Madelynn & Kathy . Everyone was so decked out in their PJ's. Great job Madelyn & Kathy!!!

We have a new member Barbara . Today was her first outing.

Hester was one of the door prize winners & she won a pink pair of PJ's.

Another door prize winner was Melanie and she won a little purse. Still one more winner was

Martha & she won a teacup.

Betty won the 50/50, $20.00.

Get ready for our next event at Bok Tower on January 6, 2009. If you are going let Lynn know by Dec. 18, the cost is $25.00. You have a few choices for lunch. Andrea has a menu to peruse.

Jean & Jone are hosting the February event. We'll be having a luncheon with a movie, Mamma Mia. Bring some wine, relax & enjoy. Lunch will be chicken salad, potato salad & broccoli salad with dessert. This event will start at 12:00.
